Kyle’s youth and competitive athletics were focused on other sports and while he was a fan of Muaythai, a regular spectator of live events, and a rabid consumer of all video content that he could get his hands on in the 1990’s and early 2000s, it was not until 2011 when he was 35 years of age in Calgary, AB that he first started to train in the art of eight limbs.
Immediately becoming obsessed with learning all that he could, he immersed himself in the sport. Leveraging his prior coaching experience he quickly started supporting the competition team at the gyms he was a member of; coaching, training, cornering athletes, and travelling for competitions. Kyle continues to expand his knowledge of the sport, now focusing on supporting Muaythai BC and its athletes through his role as a Director at Large and Head Official
